BYO Vessels

Can you make your own vessels? BYO vessels class option is best for you.

  • Create 2 vessels with clear openings (minimum 4cm), ensure walls are not too thin.
  • Maximum dimensions: height 12 cm, width/depth 10 cm.
  • Use RAKU clay (which does not shrink when bisqued) - I recommend Keanes White Raku Clay.
  • Use a rib to smooth your vessel surface when trimming to enhance results.
  • Bisque fire to 900°C - 1000°C
  • Drop off min 3 days prior to class
Remember - size is important!

If the size constraints are not followed, only one vessel might be loaded into the kiln to accommodate all of the participants' pieces.
